Our Baby Room:
At Woodberry nursery we recognise that the first three years of life are an extraordinary time that sets the foundation for all the years that follow.
Qualified and experienced staff
Your baby's first years are critical to success in school, relationships and complete emotional well being. In the baby room, our qualified and experienced staff care for babies from 3 months with genuine love and affection and constant attention to development needs, offering warm responses to your babies actions, expressions and gestures.
Observations are made every day and each baby’s interest and progress is noted. These observations are used to inform our planning for the following week. We are guided by the statutory framework for the early years foundation stage.
Keyworkers work closely with every baby to ensure a warm loving environment similar to the one they have at home, where they can build trust.
Specialist sensory room
We have a specialist sensory room where babies are presented with intellectual and physical stimulation to foster development. We recognise that from birth babies are marvellous learners, immediately investigating the sounds and sights of their surroundings.
We have a variety of mirrors in different places for babies to explore what they look like and helping babies to realise, that they are separate and different to others.
Treasure baskets are used to allow babies to explore natural items such as sponges, wooden pegs, spoons etc. We have a projector which projects images onto the wall or carpet of animals, balloons, transport etc and an amazing bubble machine which the babies can control by pressing the button.
Regular local walks
We regularly take babies for walks locally, Millers pond is a lovely place to visit and feed the ducks or to local shops or just a stroll to enjoy the fresh air. We are able to take six babies out at a time in our turtle bus with two members of staff making it possible to go out for walks at any time.
Baby sleep room...
We have a large separate sleep room where babies have their own cot and freshly laundered sheets.
